Ghulam Muhammad Bakhsh Butt is commonly known as Gama Pehlwan and got the title of Rustam-e-Hindustan. He was a strongest man of Sub-Continent and was awarded as World Heavyweight Champion. As a wrestler he remained undefeatable through out of his golden career. Gama was born on 22 May,1878 in Amritsar, India during the British Rule and after the partition on sub-continent in 1947, he was in the dominion of India and migrated to Pakistan, where he spent rest of his life.
Gama Pehlwan won over 5000 matches in his career . He first enter in wrestling championship at the age of just 17 . Gama played on national and International level and made his name in fame by attaining the title of Rustam-e-Hind and The Great Gama . The Legendary Gama Pehlwan spent his last years in chronic heart disease and died on May 23 , 1960 in Lahore , Pakistan .

Gama’s Diet and Training :
According to the sources Gama Pehlwan drinks 8 Liter of milk daily in his diet routine . He daily eats six desi chickens and also drink a tonic made up of crushed almonds ( 1 pound ) .
And if we talk about his training he daily battle with his fellow pehlwans who are 40 in numbers . He used to have 3000 pushups and 500 Baithak daily . Gama lift almost 95 kg disc made of stone during his baithak .
Career
Gama Pehlwan started his wrestling career at the age of 10 . He take part in a strongman competition and stand in last 15 . But due to his performance and young Maharaja of Jodhpur declares him winner . Later he goes to Baroda to attend wrestling competition and he lifted 1200 kilogram stone which is now kept in Baroda Museum as a achievement of Late Gama Pehlwan .
At the age of 17 , Gama Pehlwan get in a fight with another famous wrestler Raheem Baksh Sultani Wala . Both Gama and Raheem fought for hours and the match ended with draw . This is the turning point for Gama’s career . Gama also played in international tournaments and encounter with many famous international wrestler . Once he said that he has faced many rivals but Raheem Baksh Sultani Wala was the difficult one to defeat .
Bruce Lee ( martial artist , actor , filmmaker ) was the great admirer of Gama and follows his diet routine . He also read articles about him and add his training skills into his martial arts training .
Gama Pehlwan played and won upto 5000 wrestling matches . The Great Gama is undefeatable and was the shining star of Wrestling Ring . He has given the titles of Rustam-e-Hind, Rustam-e-Zamana, The Great Gama for his great pehlwani . The book The Great Gama was also written on the life of Gama Pehlwan .
