Dimple Yadav is a famous Indian politician who is the member of Lok Sabha from Mainpuri since 8th December, 2022. She is the wife of former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav who is the president of Samajwadi Party. And she is also the worker of Samajwadi Party. As a candidate of Samajwadi Party, she has served as Lok Sabha MP twice from Kannauj. Dimple is the daughter-in-law of the former Defence Minister of India Mulayam Singh Yadav who also the founder of Samajwadi Party.
Early Life & Education
Dimple Yadav was born on 15th January, 1978 at Pune, Maharashtra, India. Her father name is Col. Ram Chandra Singh Rawat who is retired from Indian Army and Champa Rawat is her mother. She is the second of three daughters of her parents. Her family belongs to Uttarakhand, India. She remained the student of Army Public School, Lucknow and after schooling enrolled in Iucknow University where she completed her graduation in Bachelor of Commerce.
Political Career
Dimple Yadav has started her successful political career in 2012, when she was elected unopposed from the Kannauj Constituency to the Lok Sabha and became the 44th person of India and 4th in Uttar Pradesh, who got elected unopposed. Actually Bharatiya Janata Party and Indian National Congress had not nominated any candidate for this election. She is also the first woman from Uttar Pradesh who is elected unopposed in Lok Sabha by-election. Dimple also retained the Kannauj Lok Sabha seat in 2014 In Indain General Elections. In 2019, Samajwadi Party and bahujan Samaj Party contested as a joint in 2019 Indian General Election but lost to BJP with big margin.
After demise of her father-in-law Mulayam Singh Yadav, she retained his traditional seat by defeating BJP’s candidate with big margin and became the first elected woman Member of Parliament from Mainpuri. Dimple Yadav is selected third time as Minister of Parliament in 17th Lok Sabha from Mainpuri.
