Herjavec is the founder of BRAK Systems, a Canadian integrator of internet software. He sold BRAK systems to AT & T Canada. He also founded The Herjavec Group. The company has become one of the largest IT and computer security companies in Canada. This company earns more than $200 million annually. He worked in several versions of the business reality series like Dragon’s Den and Shark Tank. Herjavec also worked as a third assistant director and field producer. He worked as a field producer for Global TV of the 1984 Olympics. Herjavec worked voluntarily in Logiquest for a period of six months. After firing from Logiquest, he founded BRAK systems from the basement of his home. Then he took the responsibilities of the Vice President of Ramp Network which was sold to Nokia with $225 million.

Robert Herjavec left his native country in 1970 when communism regime started in his country. His father was an anti-communist and jailed many times. Herjavec’s family left the native country with a single suitcase and only $20. His family migrated to Canada through ship. His father got a job in a factory in Mississauga with $76 per week salary. Herjavec graduated in 1984 with a degree in English literature and political science. In the beginning, Herjavec took jobs of minimum salary, such as waiting tables, delivering newspapers and debt collection.
