For the film ” Ugramm ” (2014) he won the Zee Music Award and KIMA International Award for the Best Background Score and also nominated for the Best Music Director in the Filmfare Award South. For the Anjaniputra in 2018, he won the Best Playback Singer at SIIMA. He is the director of two films Gargar Mandala (2014) and Bilinder (2016).

Basrur started his singing career in 2011 and has sung many songs for the films like; Panak Makkal (2011), Gargar Mandala (2014), Murgashira (2015), Ring Master (2015), Bilinder (2016), Anjani Putra (2017), Mufti (2017), Samhaara (2017), Bhootayyana Mommaga Ayyu (2018), Bazaar (2019) and Antim: The Final Truth (2021). As a music composer, he worked for the Telugu films, Tamil films, Malayalam films and for Hindi films.
