Dominique Armani Jones gave birth to Lil Baby on December 3, 1994, in Atlanta, Georgia. His father abandoned him when he was two years old, and he was raised by his single mother. He was raised by two sisters and dropped out of Booker T. Washington High School in his freshman year. Lil Baby was arrested in 2012 on multiple offences, including possession with intent to sell. His lawyer tried to persuade him to accept a two-year plea agreement, so Lil Baby hired a new lawyer who got him into a one-year programme.
While participating in this programme, he got into a fight with a prisoner who made racial insults, and Lil Baby was sentenced to the original two-year sentence. He was charged with marijuana possession in 2013, then marijuana possession with intent to sell the following year. After serving two years in prison, Lil Baby launched his rap career with Quality Control Music and his own label, 4PF (4 Pockets Full).
Lil Baby’s debut studio album, Harder Than Ever (2018), was certified Platinum by the RIAA. The album included the number-one single “Yes Indeed” (with Drake), which reached at number six on the Billboard Hot 100.
Baby released two more mixtapes in 2018, titled ‘Drip Harder’ and ‘Street Gossip’. The former was the most popular single, peaking at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. The latter peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200.

It was his biggest hit to date.
