Erin was born on July 22, 1998, in Rochester, New York, a lakeside city. She grown raised in a Republican environment and was exposed to political subjects from an early age. Erin aided Gary E. Smith’s campaign for municipal court judge by walking in a parade and making T-shirts.
Erin has three siblings: Megan Callanan Lasaponara and Christine ‘Chris’ Hickey (sisters), and Eamon Eric Callanan (brother). Her brother, on the other hand, died at the age of 28 as a consequence of an opiate overdose. Erin began as an intern at UCONN Magazine in 2008, where she worked on the “external affairs team” during the Republican National Convention. She worked as a press secretary for the New York State Assembly Republican Conference in Albany after graduating from college. In 2014, Erin acquired a position as press assistant to South Dakota Senator John Thune. In 2017, she resigned Thune after nearly three years to become Kevin McCarthy’s national press secretary. Erin was designated Senior Deputy Communications Director to former President Donald Trump in March 2019.
