Abhinav Bindra is a retired sport shooter and businessman of India. As a sport shooter, he is one of the only two shooters of India who won an Individual Olympic Gold Medal for India. He is the first Indian who owned the Olympic title for men’s 10 meter air rifle event in 2008 Summer Olympics and also the winner of 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championship. Bindra has also won three medals at Asian Games and seven medals in Commonwealth Games. He also secured 1st position and got gold medals in Olympic Games and World Shooting Championship. Abhinav was appointed as a goodwill ambassador for the Rio 2016 Olympics by the Indian Olympics Association. In his 22 years career, he won almost 150 medals and became the recipient of title Padma Bushan from the Indian Government. He announced his retirement on 5th Sep, 2016.
Currently Bindra is a member of the IOC Atheletes Commision. He was awarded with the prestigious Blue Cross which is the highest honour of ISSF.
Abhinav was born on 28th September, 1982 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. After schooling he got the degree of Bussiness Administration at the University of Colorado Boulder. He was trained for prolonged period in Germany and availed the best possible facilities which were not available in India at that very time.

Abhinav Bindra possesses a shining career in which he won more than 150 medals as a sport shooter. As a sport shooter, he started his career at the age of 15 years when he became the participant of 1998 Commonwealth Games. And then he participated in 2000 Summer Olympics where he was considered a youngest participant and awarded by Arjuna Award in this year. He started his wining career with bronze medal in an International competition at 2001 Munich World Cup. He has won 6 gold medals at various international competitions like Olympic Games, World Championships and Commonwealth Games. After these memorable successes, a severe back injury incapacitated him and he could not able to lift the shooting rifle for almost one year. But after his recovery, he won the title of 2006 ISSF World Shooting Championship and he qualified for 2008 Summer Olympic.
In 2008 Summer Olympics, he also possessed the victory with gold medal in a very heart breaking competition. After losing at the 2012 Summer Olympics he achieved a gold medal again in the men’s 10 meter air rifle event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. In his career he got many awards and cash prizes in million rupees by the different organizations and authorities.
As a businessman Bindra is a CEO of Abhinav Futuristids Private Ltd. which is an organization that works to bring the science and technology in sports and healthcare sector. He also running the Abhinav Bindra Foundation which is a non profit organizations and deals with athletes to provide them access to the latest sports technology and high performance Physical training with free of cost. In 2020, Bindra launched the Abhinav Bindra Sports Medicine and Research Institute at Bhubaneswar’. His net worth is estimated to be around 10 million dollars approximately.
